YO™ Male Fertility At-Home Test Kit (2-Pack)

This test provides you with three pieces of information regarding your sperm motility and quality:

Motile Sperm Concentration (MSC)
Motile sperm concentration is the number of moving sperm cells in 1 milliliter of your semen. Sperm cells need to move forward to reach the egg during natural conception. So, both sperm concentration and motility are considered. YO first reports whether your motile sperm concentration (MSC) is above or below a “normal range” of six million motile sperm per milliliter. The “normal range” of six million motile sperm is calculated by multiplying the World Health Organization (WHO) reference value for sperm concentration (15 million) times the normal reference range for sperm motility (40%). 15 million x 40% = 6 million. Although only one sperm cell is needed to fertilize an egg, six million motile sperm per milliliter is the cut-off or “threshold,” which determines the diagnosis of Low vs. Moderate/Normal MSC. An explanation of your test results is displayed after your test is run.

YO Score
YO Score is a ranking of your motile sperm concentration (MSC) compared to other men who have fathered children. The result is 10 to 90 in intervals of 10. If your score is 20, you rank above 20% of fathers. If your score is 90, you rank above 90% of fathers. The higher your YO Score, the more likely you are to achieve a pregnancy in a shorter amount of time. YO Score is a reliable tool for monitoring MSC changes over time and is the cornerstone of the fertility improvement tools contained in the YO Application.

Sperm Video
As part of the YO Home Sperm Test, you will receive a recorded video of your sample. The video offers a clear visual reference to complement your MSC and YO Score results. Videos are available for sharing with an expert, family, or friends if desired or kept 100% private inside the app for personal viewing.

Infertility, or difficulty trying to conceive, is a symptom itself, however some men are more likely to experience infertility than others. You may be more likely if you:

• Are overweight or obese
• Are 40 years or older
• Have been exposed to radiation
• Have been exposed to environmental toxins including lead, calcium, pesticides, or mercury
• Use tobacco, marijuana, or alcohol
• Are taking some medications including cyproterone, flutamide, spironolactone, bicalutamide, cimetidine, or ketoconazole
• Are around heat that raises the temperature of your testes (use of a sauna, hot tub, or wheelchair)
• Have been exposed to testosterone, like injections, implants, or topical gel

There are very specific instructions you should follow to collect and test your sample, which are listed on the instructions for use provided in the kit. Some things to remember before you begin the sample collection process include:

• Collect your sample by masturbation, directly into the sample collection cup provided in your YO kit
• Do not use condoms, lubricants or partners or this could affect results
• At least 1/8 teaspoon (less than 1 milliliter) of semen is required for testing
• Your sample can only 'sit' for one hour maximum so it's best to test right away
• Do not heat, cool or place your sample in the refrigerator – just let it rest
• Collect your sample when YO advises you and follow the instructions for testing right after collection
• For optimal results, do not have any sexual intercourse 2-5 days before YO testing
• Sample testing and sperm motility: Once you collect your sample, begin YO testing because your sample motility may decline after 1 hour. After you place the liquefaction powder into your sample as directed in the app, wait the 10 minutes as instructed but don’t wait any longer than 30 minutes or your sperm motility may decline
