This electrolyte panel measures calcium, chloride, magnesium, potassium, and sodium. These core electrolytes are essential minerals the body uses in normal bodily functions such as properly hydrating cells, maintaining blood pressure, and regulating chemical reactions. Electrolytes are taken into our body through the food we eat and the liquids we drink. The kidneys play a key role in regulating electrolytes, filtering them into urine to maintain balance. Electrolytes can also be lost through sweat and stool.
