Want a clearer understanding of your lab results?
Quest AI Companion™ can help
You’ve recently had your sample collected by Quest and you see a notification that your lab results are ready to review. You start to feel like you want more information–what does “HDL” even mean?! What was my level last time? What should I ask my healthcare provider? It’s your health information, but sometimes it can be tough to understand.
Quest believes digital health tools, like artificial intelligence (AI), can be a way to better understand medical information and personal health data. If you’re currently using AI to better understand your health, you’re not alone: A recent survey found that over 40 million people worldwide use AI tools every day for health information.¹ AI could help healthcare providers perform many daily tasks more efficiently, giving them more time to focus on you² and your personal treatment plan.³ AI can also help bridge the gap between patient health data, your understanding of what it may suggest, and preparation for conversations with your healthcare provider.
With your permission, this secure, interactive AI feature can help you achieve the following:
- Better understand your lab test results by explaining terms in more personalized, easy-to-understand language
- Identify and explain personal health trends from consecutive test results to help you track your health over time and share with your healthcare provider
- Prepare thoughtful questions for discussion with your healthcare provider
Quest now offers you more support to help manage your health journey with Quest AI Companion, a new AI feature available in MyQuest®.
MyQuest is a free and secure portal that makes it easy to get your test results, schedule appointments, track your health history, and more, all in one place.
Please note: Quest AI Companion explains your test results but cannot provide a diagnosis or recommend treatment. It is a tool to support you, not to replace the expertise and judgment of your healthcare provider.
Here's how to get started:
- Sign in to your MyQuest account. If you don’t have an account, creating one only takes a few minutes.
- Click Results. In the Completed section, click the Need help interpreting? Ask Quest AI Companion button to start the chat.
- Review the information. If you agree, click the I consent button.
- Click on one of the prompt questions or you can type your own question in the text box and click on the Ask button.
- Quest AI Companion will then provide you with an answer. You can copy and paste this answer into a secure Word® document, for example, to save for your reference or share with your healthcare provider. If you’d like to rate the answer, click on the thumbs-up icon if it was helpful or the thumbs-down icon if it was not. This rating helps Quest AI Companion improve.
- If Quest AI Companion asks you a question (for example, Would you like to know more about what can affect blood sugar levels?), you can type Yes (or No) and click the Ask button to send the response.
- If you’d like to ask another question, type it in the box and click the Ask button.
- When you’re finished, close the chat to return to your MyQuest account.
Your privacy and our technology
Quest AI Companion is built in conjunction with a Google AI-powered chatbot. The purpose of Quest AI Companion in MyQuest is to summarize your completed test results, explain the test's purpose, and identify result trends over time. It answers questions in plain language to help you discuss your health with your healthcare provider. However, it cannot diagnose problems, recommend treatments, or replace your healthcare provider's expertise. Quest Al Companion doesn't have access to information about your medications, diagnoses, or medical procedures. You can't upload other medical information into MyQuest or send it to Quest Al Companion. It is available 24/7 to answer questions, but it is not human and may make mistakes, so always discuss your results with your healthcare provider.
Quest protects your information using industry-standard protocols and does not share your data with advertisers or outside parties. Quest AI Companion accesses your completed test results (up to 20 results less than 5 years old) and your sex and age from your MyQuest account to provide appropriate information. Your test results are never used to train any public large language model (LLM), and data is kept separate from Google's public AI services within Quest's secure, HIPAA-compliant environment. You can provide feedback on Quest AI Companion's answers, but to protect your privacy, chat sessions cannot be resumed, so save important answers by copying and pasting them into a secure document.
